Use cases span operational automation, labor planning, theft prevention/recovery, and product-quality protection (e.g., perishables). Trackers can be concealed in cargo and typically buffer data when connectivity is lost.<br /><br />Voxel described computer vision applied to existing industrial cameras to detect unsafe behaviors and operational hazards in warehouses, terminals, and factories. Newer use cases include cold-chain/spoilage monitoring with infrared cameras, open-container alerts, and equipment/product damage prevention. Voxel emphasized privacy protections (e.g., blurring faces, avoiding PII) and configurable alert rules after on-site model tuning. The company also partners with insurers via risk engineering and premium-credit programs.<br /><br />ASCOT’s underwriting perspective: evaluate technology by cause of loss (collision/rollover, theft, load shift, reefer breakdown). The critical issue is not installation but active monitoring, clear accountability, full-fleet deployment, adequate data retention, integration across systems, written SOPs, measurable results, and contingency plans when systems fail.
